Maria Cervantes- Aguirre, a University of The Pacific (UOP), and Community Involvement Program (CIP) alumni shares her background, campus life, and personal accomplishments in this interview. As the daughter of two Mexican-immigrant parents who migrated from Mexico; she experienced their challenges, and assimilations in America. Being born in Arizona, and raised in Stockton whilst traveling across Northern, Central, and Southern California inspired her to pursue education. Moreover, Aguirre elaborates on her elementary, high school, community college, and education at U.O.P. She details the application process of C.I.P. while speaking about her community service. Additionally, she shares the admiration, and significant role her aunt represented as an involved community member as well. Also, our audience is granted the opportunity to hear about her priorities during these pivotal college semesters. Serving as inspirations, and moments of reflection for many listeners. Furthermore, Aguirre’s shares her consistent work-related achievements after graduation. Near the end of this session, she shares words of inspiration in order to uplift current C.I.P. students. Thus, prompting them to continue in their academic endeavors. Altogether, this interview encapsulates the positive impact C.I.P. had on someone who rose from a humble, and ambitious background in her life.
